Independent Practice & Private Lessons

Locations: Pirelli Veteran’s Arena (Franklin, MA) and New England Sports Center (Marlboro)

Looking for another day to skate with friends, have a private lesson, practice for an upcoming competition, or work on your individual moves? Come join us on Sundays, Mondays (start 4/27), Wednesdays, and Fridays for freestyle ice.

We encourage our team skaters and soloists to utilize Mondays and Fridays as an additional practice day to improve their skating skills and have private lessons.

Specialty Class

W.I.N. Sessions

Start Date: Wednesday 4/29 @ 4:00-4:50pm

Location: Pirelli Veterans Arena, Franklin, MA

*Wednesday Class Dates:

4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27, 6/3, 6/10 & 6/17

*Skaters enrolling in our Spring II session may be asked to perform a special group program during our Rising Stars Showcase on May 17th.


What Do Skaters Learn Each Week?:

Skaters will improve their edges, flow, posture, and overall skating quality each week through unique exercises and drills that are specific to the level they are working towards.

Receive coaching and specific feedback to help you stay focused and continue improving your skating skills.

Who Is This Class For?:

This is a great class for skaters who are currently working on solo programs, competing as soloists, couples, or in group programs, or who are enrolled in team skating. Skaters must have their own skates (no rentals available).

What is Included?:

A future group program dress is included with enrollment in this Spring II session, 25-minutes of independent practice, 25-minutes of group instruction.

Specialty Class- Sundays

Teen/ Adult Beginner Class

Start Date: Sun. April 26th @ 5:30-6:30pm

Location: New England Sports Center (Marlboro)

*Sunday Class Dates:

4/26, 5/10*, 5/31, 6/7, 6/21

*No ice time on Sun. 5/3 so our skaters can compete in the Rosegarden competition and coaches can drive home safely from the weekend’s long event.

*Sun. 5/10 will be a day to come practice independently, but there may not be a formal class held.

*No ice time on Sun. 5/17 so our skaters can be celebrated in our Rising Stars Showcase.

*New England Sports Center will be closed on Sun. 5/24 in observance of Memorial Day.

*No ice time on Sun. 6/14 due to the Skater’s Cup competition.


What Do Skaters Learn Each Week?:

Get comfortable moving effortlessly across the ice, gliding on one foot, doing crossovers, skating backwards and more!

Who is This Class For?:

This class is perfect for skaters who are feeling a little rusty getting back on the ice, or teens and adult who are new to skating. Ages 16+, must have your own skates (no rentals available).

What is Included?:

30-minutes of independent practice, 30-minutes of group instruction.

Specialty Class- Wednesdays

Team Skating Class

Our team skating class is held at the same time as our regular team skating practices on Wednesdays @ 5:00-6:00pm.

Location: Pirelli Veteran’s Arena (Franklin, MA)

*There may be additional opportunities for skaters to participate in select solo events alongside their group program(s).

*The group program is likely to compete on either Saturday or Sunday.

*If your skater registers for more than one event, you may need to attend on multiple days, please plan accordingly.


Who Is This Class For?:

  • Perfect for beginner youth skaters who have not competed before, or who are still new to skating.

  • Skaters who may not be able to or ready yet to commit to a full season of competitions (Sept.-June).

  • Skaters who may not feel ready yet to travel out-of-state for competitions with their teammates.

What Do Skaters Learn Each Week?:

  • Team skating class participants will learn at least one group program. There may be opportunities to learn additional programs, depending on enrollment. Practices are held every week so skaters feel confident performing their program.

  • All skaters enrolling in this class will be asked to participate in the Finesse Spring Showcase, “Rising Stars”, on Sun. May 17th in Marlborough, MA and the Skater’s Cup Competition over the June 12-14th weekend in Concord, MA.

Additional Info:

  • To participate in “Rising Stars”, you must register for class no later than April 26th.

  • To participate in Skater’s Cup, you must register for class no later than May 6th.

Rising Star ⭐️ Showcase FAQ

When Are Show practices?

  • Small groups (Hamilton, Jazz, At the Hop) —> Practice during W.I.N. Sessions on Wednesdays @ 4:00pm

  • Soloists —> Your registration includes THREE Finesse Freestyle credits. You’ll choose which freestyle day you’ll skate on instead of registering for freestyle.

  • Duets/ Trios —> Registration includes TWO Finesse Freestyle credits. You’ll choose which freestyle day you’ll skate on instead of registering for freestyle.

  • Rising Star credits can be used on days you’re planning to have a private lesson or practice independently with friends and teammates.


Do I need to sign-up for a small group along with my solo?

  • No, all soloist registrations also include a group program. Skaters who are not already in a small group, and do not participate in synchro, will skate in a fun, and easy to learn Intro Group program on the day of the show.


I’m in Corntastic Day, Heartbeat Symphony, or synchro, do I need to sign-up for a small group?

  • No, you do not need to register for a small group to participate in a synchro program or are in our intro to team skating class.

  • You need to register for a small group to participate in the following small groups which are performing in Rising Stars Showcase: At the Hop, Hamilton, and Jazz.


What is the rising stars form i need to complete registration?

  • You will be emailed a link to a Google form after payment for you event(s) is received. Your registration will be complete after you submit it.


Why is the soloist registration $147?

  • Your soloist registration includes three Finesse Freestyle credits (dates are listed on the checkout page), a small group program (can be one of the following: At the Hop, Hamilton, or Jazz), and your solo program registration for the showcase. These freestyle credits may be ice time you can use for a private lesson or independent practice.

  • When you have Rising Star credits, you do not need to register for freestyle on the day you choose.


Does Each Duet/ Trio Skater need to register?

  • Yes, your $60 duet/ trio registration includes any two Finesse Freestyle sessions listed on the checkout page, and your duet/ trio program.

  • You’ll choose the freestyle days on the Google form which will be emailed to you.

  • Skaters can work on their program(s) independently, coaches may oversee skater’s programs during practice when possible. Otherwise, private lessons can be booked when available for dedicated time to work on individual or partner programs.


My plans changed for May 17th, can I request a refund?

  • No refunds for Rising Stars Showcase registrations will be issued. Please only register if you know you’re able to perform in the show.

Payment + Club Info:

Classes are pro-rated, unless otherwise noted.

Spots are limited and are not guarantee until payment is received, all waivers, and forms are submitted electronically or in paper form. See a copy of our Code of Conduct form and Participation Waiver linked.

Enrollment does not rollover from session to session. Purchased sessions must be used during the current Spring 2026 period. Pre-paid freestyle sessions must be used within 30-days of purchase.

No refunds.

Makeups are not guaranteed and will only be offered at the discretion of Skating Directors.

All Finesse Figure Skating members must be members of ISI (Ice Sport Industry). If you need to renew your annual membership, click here.

Please email us prior to class if you/ your skater cannot attend class for any reason [SkateWithFinesse@gmail.com].

In the event of inclement weather, class cancellations are at the discretion of the Skating Directors unless the rink location closes due to a weather emergency.

All Finesse Freestyle sessions must be paid-in-full regardless of how long skaters remain on the ice.
